KIVA Update!

Two of our KIVA loans have been repaid. They were both to women, one in Kenya who is a doctor needing an ultrasound machine. The other in Mexico who wanted to increase inventory in her clothing/shoe sales business.

Currently, we have two loans, both 75% repaid. One from a woman in Kenya who is expanding her food production/sales business and a woman in Tajikistan who is doing the same thing.

We just took a loan recently for a woman in Kenya whose business, which she started in 2000, offers a variety of staples such as bread, rice, flour, sugar, cooking oil, along with other items often used by her customers. She is expanding.

I am so glad to be a part of KIVA. It has really made us feel like we are helping to make a difference, not just in the lives of those who are offered the loans, but in their communities, as they expand their businesses and services.
