Whew! What a week!

I have been out of pocket the last few days because of our annual state conference at work. We start on Wednesday, getting everything ready at the conference center. The conference started on Thursday morning and ran until almost 5pm. We then have our awards banquet that we have to get ready for while there is a little social hour going on. The banquet runs from 7-9pm and then we have to clean up afterwards. I was so tired.

Then back at the conference center at 8am on Friday, until 1:30pm, then we had to load up the truck and bring everything back over to the office. But I got out at 3pm, and picked up E from school, so that was great!Soccer practice got cancelled Friday, so we took the kids to see Shrek the Third and they had fun. It was alright, but not as good as the first two (in my opinion).

We had a soccer game at 9am on Saturday morning. The boys played really well and won the game. So far, we are undefeated! WOOT! After the game, we went home and let the boys take a little siesta before E's birthday party. We got to Chuck E. Cheese about 11:45 and got all set up. E's cake was very cool - Darth Vadar!

After the party, we took M home and went home to vegg out! I was so beat. The boys played Xbox and played with E's new toys (lots of Star Wars action figures) and Jenn took a nap. I played Chocolatier on my computer and won! Yay! I never seem to win any of those games and Jenn beats them really fast!

Sunday, we did laundry and cleaned house in the morning and then we had a soccer game at 1:45. The boys played well again and yes, we won! They got their trophies for the season and they were very proud of them. We start t-ball next week, I believe!

We went to Chickasha to see my parents and my sister and nephew, who flew in from Dallas. It was so good to see W! He has gotten so big and was walking everywhere. It was just so cute. He is getting the cutest little ringlet curls in the back of his hair. Just precious! We stayed out there pretty late and didn't get home until close to 10pm, but the boys had a blast. We popped them into the tub and then they were out like lights.

Bad Day

Well, the boys woke us up at like 6 am on Mother's Day! That was so sweet of them, huh? On top of that, one dog had the runs and the other one had peed in the den (thank god for wood floors). So we got up, cleaned up the mess, fed the boys and put on a movie for them and went back to bed for a couple of hours.

I had a dull headache all day long. Jenn's laptop isn't working right and I was just grouchy all day. It seemed like nothing turned out the way that I wanted it to.

We did play some games with the boys, though, and watch a movie together and that was nice. I didn't, however, get the new blinds up in the sun room (just one, there's another left). But it was nice that we got that room cleaned out and re-arranged on Saturday.

I wish I had more vacation time because after this week, I would love to take a few days off.

But some good news, an old friend applied for a position at my office and got an offer. I think he is going to take it. I hope so. I think it would be a great thing for our office. He has lots of experience.

30 April 2007

We had such a nice weekend. The weather was great! I came home from work on Friday and mowed the lawn and finised up trimming the hedges. We had a great chicken fried steak dinner and played a game with the boys before going to bed.

We got up on Saturday and cleaned the house. M came over around 10:30 and played with E and K and then my mom came over about 11:30 and we went to the boys soccer game. They played great and won! Yay!

K went with his granparents for the weekend from the game and we all went downtown to the Arts Festival. It was soooo crowded, but the indian tacos and stawberries napoleon were fabulous! The kids made some fun light switch plates, sun catchers and wands in a kid's area. Jenn and I shared a dippin' dots and then we all went home.

Jenn and I took a nap while mom hung out and watched a movie with M and E and then E went home with her for the night. M went home and Jenn and I worked on her algebra quiz (not well, I sucked) and then got ready and went to see the Oklahoma City Philharmonic with Bebe Neuwirth as the special guest.

She was fabulous!

Yesterday was sort of a lazy morning. It was nice that no little one's woke us up! I got the dogs bathed, the fish tank cleaned, the back yard mowed and picked up E and got dog food. We spent some time playing Lego Star Wars on XBOX. Then I made spaghetti and meatballs and after dinner, E and I watched Star Wars V.We are going to finish watching it tonight. He wants a Star Wars Birthday Party (15 days until he is 5!!)

Type 1 Diabetes

My son was diagnosed September 1, 2006 with Type 1 Diabetes. We have been doing very good getting on a routine and he doesn't complain too much about all the finger pricks and the shots (but he only gets 1-2 shots a day right now).

Last night we were at the chinese restaurant we like to go to (his favorite) and he put a coin in the buddah and rubbed it's belly and said "I wish I didn't have diabetes". *sob*

I really want to get more involved with the American Diabetes Association and the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. I believe one of them is having a walk here in Oklahoma City soon that we could participate in. And really, I would love to start some kind of parent/kid group of families affected by Type 1, because E would really benefit from knowing other kids in the same boat as he is.

SAHM

I know that it isn't every mom's dream to be a 'Stay At Home Mom' (SAHM) but I sure miss it. I took the last 11 days off from work, for vacation and I really loved being at home with the boys and fixing breakfast and lunch and playing and taking to and from school. I miss it a lot and I know that it isn't financially feasible for me to be at home right now, but I would do it in a heartbeat if it was.

Yes, there were times when I felt like I was going to lose it, because they weren't minding or were cranky. But for the most part, it really was a fun time for all of us (I think) and I am really envious of Jenn for being at home with them all the time.

I know that not all moms can be at home or want to be at home, but those that do are really getting something great, I think. I wouldn't trade all that extra time with my kids for anything.
I had a long, restful, nice vacation and am back at work today. I was off for eleven wonderful days! I loved being at home with the kids and Jenn and I really got a lot accomplished around the house. I "spring" cleaned! I also cleaned out the garage and then I hung Christmas lights on the house and put them in the yard. I did a ton of laundry (although you wouldn't know it now, don't do any for a few days and we're back to square one!).It was so hard to get up and come in to the office today. Although it has been a quiet day here and I have gotten a lot accomplished, I really have missed being home. Wish I could win the lottery so I could be a SAHM all the time! :)

Our Anniversary

Well, it's here. We have officially been together for a year now. I cannot believe it, yet it does seem like I have known her forever.

We had a wonderful evening last night. A nice dinner at a child-free restaurant, feasting on brie, duck, and this wonderful four berry sorbet with sweet sour cream on top. It was amazing and I cannot wait to return and do it all again (although, it will probably be Valentine's or something like that!)

Tonight, we had a babysitter for 2 hours that I suprised her with, so we went out to Pepperoni Grill for dinner. We had some champagne, a wonderful meal and some much needed time without the kids. It was a great dinner, too.

I woke up with her in my arms and that is were I always want her. She is my best friend, my love, my joy... She is everything I want and need and desire.I never thought I would find a woman like her.

Saturday

Have had a relatively nice and productive day. M entertained the boys all morning and afternoon. They played, watched movies and worked on a art "project". She is so good at coming up with little projects for them to do together. The boys had a blast.

Jenn and I caught up on a couple of QAF episodes while they watched Curious George and then we all had lunch together and played a game. M went home and the boys laid down to take a nap. I cleaned out our closet while Jenn worked on her algebra study guide and then took her test. She made a 91 and I am so proud of her. She is working so hard to get an A in that class.

I even dusted the back room and the fan! UGH!!

I made the boys dinner tonight (chicken strips, fries, apple slices and baby carrots) and then grilled us a couple of steaks, baked potatoes, salad and rolls. It was so good. We have been working on our blogs and laying around talking. I just ran to the store to get milk, bread, bananas, stuff like that and we put the boys to bed.

I am thinking it would be nice to curl up with a movie or play some POGO together. Something like that. We will see what progresses *winks*

16 November 2005

Was a quiet day at the office today. Everyone was out helping Oklahoma County get ready for their fundraiser. Emailed back and forth with the moms group and had fun emailing with Jennifer.

Kathy, Linda and I had lunch at Irma's. It was excellent and I always enjoy the eye-candy waitresses.... Linda - you have great waitresses *wink* AND I got to see the ultrasound pictures from yesterday! They were adorable! Baby girl... :) It's making my clock tick! LOLI

FINALLY got my drivers license renewed today! Only 16 days late! Then I went to the mall (gag) and got M and E both a Christmas gift. I found a great neon clock for M's room. She will love it. And I got E a gumball machine because he is always stealing his sisters gum in her gumball machine. I also got them some bottle caps for their stockings. Yummy.

I found a coat FINALLY too! LOL Now that it is actually cold, I remembered. I found several things at Lane Bryant. My mom called when I was there and said she got a $50 gift card from there in the mail today - if you spend $150... which is how much the coat is. So I am had them hold it so I can come home and see if I got a gift card too or if I have to get it from her. They actually had some cool stuff for fall. I found a great grey sweater... I will probably go spend TOO much tomorrow when I go back for the coat, but I never buy myself clothes.

I meant to get E some long sleeve shirts, but I forgot to go to the kids stores. I so hate shopping. I might get online and see what I can get mailed to us. LOL

M is gone tonight. E is watching FOSTER'S HOME FOR IMAGINARY FRIENDS, so I am catching up on my much missed time on my laptop. I have missed laying in bed on the computer this last week. My mom always asks how we can be on the computer so much, but I love it. I always find stuff to do. Listen to LAUNCHCAST and play games.... email, chat, look at internet porn... or not.... lol

I am ready for the weekend. Tomorrow night some of us are going to speak to OU's GLBT & Friends group and then I think I am going to take M to see HP: GOBLET OF FIRE on Friday and then Sat is the Mom's Potluck and that will be so fun! I am thinking about going to the Family Pride meeting on Sunday... we'll see. I still haven't heard if it is going to be this Sunday or not. 'til later..........

My Day...

Gave Keli no mercy today at the office.... lol.... geez, I love makin' her life hell. Definately made the day go along faster. We worked on a grant for a volunteer drive and talked about helping Oklahoma County CASA with their reindeer painting. I think we are going to try to do 10 for them. (The auction off these 3 foot wooden reindeer that are painted.) They have a lot this year, and not many people to paint them. Fun fun fun!

Joshua has been gone to a Leadership Conference in New Mexico this week. There were meetings all day (thank goodness I didn't have to sit in on any) and I worked on some of the stuff for my Nov. 7 meeting.

Picked up kids, ate at Mickey D's... M is riding her bike with some of the neighborhood kids and E is playing games on the computer. I guess I should holler at M to come home, it's starting to get dark out. Chloe is barking everytime they ride by. Nevermind... yay! She came home on her own!! That's a first!

Let's see... what else? Not much. Reconciling bank accounts, laundry, a bunch of mundane things. I bought a bunch of movies to download (rent) and can't wait to see Kill Bill Vol.1 and 2

That's all folks!
